Deaf Talk Mentorship Program

Deaf Talk, LLC mentorships are a proven way to gain experience, shadow interpreters to learn how they work (as a team or solo) and start a career in the interpreting world. Our mentorship program is an opportunity to excel and learn while you accumulate observation/interpreting hours. Deaf Talk, LLC can provide interpretation mentorships for day/night as needed. We have limited spaces available each semester.

Criteria for Mentorship Program

Please include the following supporting documentation (electronically created or scanned from hard copy).  Please name your files so that we can figure out what’s in each of them:

  • Two letters of recommendation.  One letter must be from an interpreter within your ITP/IPP or related program and other is at your discretion (no personal references will be accepted)
  • A resume outlining your work experience and any prior interpreting experience including formal/informal training
  • Copies of any test results that you have taken that are related to interpreting (RID/EIPA written or  performance exam results, etc.)
  • Proof you are currently enrolled in an Interpreting/ITP program.
  • Copies of memberships to FRID, NAD, RID, FAD or any other interpreting-related organizations.

Please put all your electronic and scanned files into a single ZIP file, and send it to us via this electronic submission form .

All portions of the critera must be completed and any supporting documentation included. Incomplete packet missing any supporting documentation will not be accepted.
